Founded by English entrepreneurs in 1874, the Grande Hotel Des Palmes was later renovated in Art Nouveau style by renowned Italian architect, Ernesto Basile, in 1907. The building retains a unique sense of character today, with original features such as intricate stained-glass windows and ornate ceiling frescoes catching the eye and creating a palpable ambience of grandeur.
It’s also perfectly placed for exploring the city of Palermo, with Teatro Massimo, Piazza Verdi and Quattro Canti all within easy walking distance, and Palermo Cathedral and the Norman Palace also within easy reach on foot or by car.
The rooms and suites combine elegant decor with modern comforts, including complimentary Wi-Fi, air conditioning, smart TVs and spacious, marble-tiled bathrooms.
At the Neobistrot restaurant, set within the former ballroom, you can enjoy gourmet Sicilian dishes that combine centuries-old traditions with contemporary flair, while the Sensus Mixology Bar is bound to impress with its expertly crafted cocktails, including signature creations and the classics. Its outdoor terrace is the perfect spot in which to relax over a drink or two, and perhaps an aperitif.
On the sixth floor, the hotel offers a well-equipped fitness room exclusively for guests.
