Originally built in 1908, the hotel takes its name from its designer, the English architect Charles Robert Ashbee, one of the leading members of the Arts and Crafts Movement from the late 1800s. Today, the historic villa has been transformed into an opulent boutique hotel and recently became a member of the 'Leading Hotels of the World'. It carries with it a sense of timeless luxury and impeccable service within an outstanding setting.

In more detail

All 24 rooms and suites at the Ashbee Hotel are stylishly decorated with classical furnishings but core features such as the modern bathrooms maintain a more contemporary feel. Most rooms look out on to the landscaped gardens or courtyard, with a selection enjoying dazzling sea views from the front of the property. For guaranteed outdoor space, the Deluxe Rooms are an ideal upgrade and feature a terrace or balcony. The hotel also has a number of individually designed spacious suites which can be upgraded to include sea views for a supplement.

Food is a highlight here at the Ashbee Hotel, especially when you consider the two Michelin stars and celebrity chef-led St George Restaurant by Heinz Beck. With outdoor terrace seating, guests can be inspired by a complete gourmet dining experience with refined cuisine at the heart of it. Food is inspired by the seasons and features the likes of fresh catch of the day and various wine-paired tasting menus. The restaurant's sommeliers are on hand to suggest the perfect pairing from the extensive and constantly evolving wine list. Breakfasts are served as a buffet on the roof terrace each morning, with idyllic views of the coastline below. The poolside bar serves snacks and cocktails and is the perfect spot for a sunset mojito made with fresh mint picked from the hotel’s own gardens, while The Ashbee Bar is the place to be for light lunches, a classic English afternoon tea or a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks throughout the day.

Leading down from the hotel are tiered gardens and the hotel's showpiece infinity pool overlooking the Ionian Sea. If you're seeking an afternoon of relaxation, this is the perfect spot to pair a swim with refreshments from the pool bar.
