Capri is an island that has long been an ode to pleasure, with a history of hedonism as artists and intellectuals flocked here, drawn by the luminosity of the light and the iridescence of the surrounding sea. Opposite this enchanted isle, the Amalfi coastline is as attractive, a series of sweeping cliff top routes between charming jumbled towns with sea views and a seriously sophisticated Riviera vibe. As befits the location, this tour includes stays at superior hotels and the luxury of a private chauffeur drive between Sorrento and Amalfi, to make the most of the attractions en route.
Please note, in June, July, August and September, the Amalfi Coast can be very busy and we may recommend alternative hotels.
Ease into your holiday with our complimentary lounge access before your flight to Naples and a hydrofoil or catamaran crossing to Capri. The island has enticed pleasure seekers, sculptors, artists and aristocrats for centuries. And its popularity shows no sign of waning, thanks to an exceptionally attractive hilly interior, a fabulous beach scene and upmarket boutiques and craft shops.
The splendidly sited Casa Morgano is close to all the action, minutes away from the main square, but with peaceful rooms, a delightful swimming pool and magnificent sea views.
There’s a lot to see on Capri and just off it. Take a boat to get the best views of the famous, slightly surreal, Faraglioni sea stacks and the more famous and even more surreal Blue Grotto, a sea cave filled with dazzling azure water. Sail out afterwards to Marina Piccolo, busy with fabulous fish restaurants, or strike out for a suntrap beach. On land, there are Roman ruins and sculptures to explore. Villa San Michelle is filled with treasures amassed by notable physician Alex Munthe and has a terrace overlooking the sea.
But for the best views of all, take the chairlift to the peak of Mount Solaro, and look down at the Bay of Naples stretching all round.
Breakfast included
Sail over to Sorrento, within sight and easy reach of Capri. A private transfer will then take you to your cliff-top hotel, whose rooftop pool and bar has glorious views of Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples. Sorrento itself is a wonderful town for strolling, down paths to bays lined with fish restaurants, or along the centre streets leading to the cathedral, the church dedicated to St Francis, and small shops selling lacework and limoncello, ceramics and ice cream.
The extraordinary and eerie archaeological site of Pompeii is also close by, its ancient streets and market squares suffused with shadows from the past.
Breakfast included
The drive between Sorrento and Amalfi is one of the most thrilling and picturesque in the world, and today you have a private chauffeur at your disposal, so sit back and make the most of the views. Known as the Blue Ribbon Drive, every turn reveals another sweep of bay, another steep cliff face racing down to meet it, another jumble of a town stacked high with pastel and brightly coloured houses, of which Positano is perhaps the most picture perfect.
Stop off here en route before taking in the sprawling, hillside gardens of picturesque Ravello. Your chauffeur will then drop you at the hotel in Amalfi.
Breakfast included
The Amalfi Coast featuring everything from sun-kissed terraces and a private bathing marina to bougainvillea gardens and fine-dining restaurants. It would be easy to spend the whole day here, but Amalfi is too pretty for that.
Sun-drenched terraces lined with lemon trees, a splendid Arab-Norman cathedral and a small beach, all provide places made for lingering in. Relax in Amalfi's sunny piazzas, enjoying delicious seafood and its next-door white sands. It’s the perfect relaxing end to your holiday.
Breakfast included
A transfer after breakfast takes you to Naples in time for your return flight to the UK.

"With all its drama and majesty, the Amalfi Coast is a destination that oozes that typically Italian, style and sophistication. This is the perfect itinerary for those looking for a coastal holiday with a difference – it’s certainly no Costa del Sol. With no end to the stunning scenery the romance is palpable in this enchanting location making it the perfect choice for a honeymoon getaway. And, be sure to make the trip to Pompeii – a fascinating place that will really enrich your holiday. "
