The hotel’s handsome, vernacular architecture mirrors the sandy oranges and creams of the historical town below. But inside, its luxurious bedrooms are rather more contemporary – expect royal-sized beds and all the usual mod-cons, complemented by soft, neutral hues.
In keeping with its historical theme, the hotel retains some aspects of the watermill and bubbling stream that once stood on this site. The freshwater swimming pool is derived from an old water basin, and offers relief from the sauna and steam room. The latter, along with a leisurely massage parlour and outdoor jacuzzi, form the hotel’s wellness centre. This is housed in a partially renovated eighteenth-century stone building - with crumbling bursts of original period features – fed by the old watermill stream.
Alberi Del Paradiso’s sweeping garden harbours both a tennis court and playground, among a lush array of plants. Set in these twists of rich olive and hot pink foliage is the hotel restaurant, which serves an array of traditional and extravagant Mediterranean dishes. This locally sourced dining room stocks over 100 Sicilian wines, and has beautiful views of the area itself, best enjoyed from the open-air verandahs.
