A £50 million refurbishment has restored this Florentine villa to its former glories with decadent furnishings showcased in spacious and stylish guestrooms each with oak flooring, one-of-a-kind furnishings and added flourishes that range from silver candelabras to fresh orchids. Grand fireplaces and plump chesterfields all add to the sense of grandeur.
The food and wine at Il Salviatino are real highlights, exploring the rich array of local produce and highlighting the varied flavours and traditions of Tuscan gastronomy. Throughout the day, guests have the chance to sample dishes at Le Serre restaurant, prepared by the hotel's Michelin-starred chef, Carmine Calo. The hotel's second restaurant, La Terrazza, offers tasty Tuscan classics and superb views across the historic rooftops of Florence.
Open during summer, the hotel's features three, heated infinity pools terraced to overlook the surrounding valley and rose-scented gardens. And, also set in the lush grounds, the Spa Il Salviatino offers everything from aromatherapy massages to anti-ageing treatments, all using products by Florentine perfumier and cosmetologist, Dr Vranjes.
