Back at base, the all-suite accommodation champions modern architecture while nodding to the spectacular surrounds with giant windows that take in the lodge’s lake, the Patagonian Steppe or the towering Andes. Some also look back on the hotel’s central garden that showcases the finest Patagonian flora while sheltering guests from the harsh winds. It’s a contrast to the cosy rooms where simple lines sit alongside antique furniture.
The restaurant too is inspired by its setting with native Patagonian flavours showcased across indulgent menus. However, having worked in Michelin starred restaurants from Buenos Aires to the Basque Country, executive chef Juan Pablo Bonaveri imparts a certain European twist to proceedings. It’s all washed down with a superb range of varietals, sourced exclusively from Argentine wineries. And, as a last tip, don’t miss out on the sunrise breakfasts for some truly arresting views.
