Day 1

Welcome aboard the Britannic Explorer

Make your way to London Victoria Station, eagerly anticipating your mid-afternoon departure aboard the luxurious Britannic Explorer. As you step on board, you'll be greeted by a dedicated steward and immersed in a world of immaculate British design, the décor seamlessly blending timeless rail heritage with modern elegance. Then, as you retreat to your stylish, individually designed suite, it's time to leave London behind as your adventure begins. Enter into the spirit of the occasion with a delectable Cornish Afternoon Tea as you gaze out at the passing landscapes. Perhaps unwind further with a rejuvenating treatment in the wellness suite as you journey past the verdant North Wessex Downs and the charming Somerset market towns of Frome and Taunton. Twilight descends as you arrive at the West Somerset Railway, a 20-mile ribbon of heritage track winding through bucolic countryside towards Dunster. Make your way to the bar to mingle with your fellow guests over a selection of signature cocktails. Then, ascend to the opulent restaurant car and indulge in a culinary masterpiece crafted by renowned chef Simon Rogan. Day 2

Penzance to Fowey

Today's journey begins with a leisurely brunch and a journey along the picturesque south Devon coast, where you'll travel the famous Riviera Line, admiring breathtaking ocean views from charming towns such as Teignmouth and the iconic Dawlish Sea Wall. Venturing into the heart of Dartmoor National Park, you'll soon enter the captivating county of Cornwall – known locally as Kernow – as you catch glimpses of the sparkling Cornish sea, winding through the historic towns of St Austell and Truro towards Penzance. After a delightful lunch composed of seasonal local ingredients in the Dining Car, disembark at St Erth to explore the artistic haven of St Ives, or continue to Penzance for a guided tour of the Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens. Admire James Turrell's 'Aqua Oscura' installation from a former Victorian water tank, before enjoying a private Cornish wine tasting overlooking St Michael's Mount. Rejoin the train and journey back towards Fowey in the late afternoon, stopping for the night on a secluded track overlooking a river. Pamper yourself with a treatment at the sanctuary of the wellness suite, sip handcrafted cocktails at the bar and savour a culinary feast at dinner, before an evening of captivating live entertainment.

Day 3

Fowey & Bruton

Wake up to a luxurious breakfast served in your cabin as you contemplate a choice of exclusive experiences in the stunning coastal town of Fowey and the historic Lostwithiel area. From invigorating coastal hikes to personalised boat tours, every moment is tailored to your preferences. Return to the train in Fowey and relax as you travel to the enchanting market town of Bruton in Somerset, where you'll enjoy a private, after-hours tour of the renowned Hauser & Wirth gallery, followed by a sophisticated drinks reception and an exclusive dinner. To cap off your final evening, return to the Britannic Explorer and indulge in an open bar of artisan gins, craft beers and specialty cocktails, showcasing the finest from the UK’s independent distilleries and breweries. The train then retires for the night on the peaceful East Somerset Railway.

Return to London
