With a day free to explore, spend more time taking in the city sights, perhaps visiting Troldhaugen, the former home of composer Edvard Greig or simply relaxing in one of the cafes that lines the famous waterfront. In the afternoon, it’s time to head to your ship, SeaDream II. Settle into your chosen accommodation, then spend time getting to know your new home from home. Perhaps head to the top deck to relax in the summer sun, visit the spa or enjoy a drink at the pool bar before the first of your included meals ¬– a fine-dining dinner with dishes inspired by the freshest local ingredients.

Having departed Bergen in the night, you’ll wake this morning surrounded by the majesty of Norway’s Western Fjords, making port in Olden where you’ll have time to head ashore for further optional exploration. Then, having rejoined the ship, you can look forward to a full day on board, relaxing to magnificent views as you chart a course through the network of deep channels that characterise this spectacular corner of Scandinavia, passing vast glaciers, plunging waterfalls and remote communities. On day four, you’ll arrive in the port city of Ålesund, famed for its Art Nouveau architecture.

The next leg of your journey sees you sail south, pausing at the coastal towns of Måløy and Kalvåg as you explore more spectacular landscapes en route to Vik, a pretty town idyllically perched on the southern shore of Sognefjord – the longest and deepest fjord in Norway, and one of the most beautiful. Take the chance to explore on everything from scenic hikes to kayak paddles.

Your voyage through the fjords continues as you head further south, to picturesque Rosendal located on the Hardangerfiord. Not only is the town host to Scandinavia’s smallest ‘castle’ – Baroniet Rosensal Manorhouse & Gardens – it’s also surrounded by truly magnificent scenery, from mighty mountains to vast glaciers. After a day in Rosendal, sail on to Skagen, the most northerly tip of Denmark. Host to wild, windswept beaches, this flat spit of land is a complete contrast to the fjord-riven landscapes of previous days.
