With fantastic aurora viewing potential, along with inclusive winter activities in the likes of husky sledding, you'll spend the next three nights embracing the wilderness of Norway's far north. And, after an active day out in the wilderness, there's no better way to put your feet up than with an included private outdoor hot tub experience, complimented by panoramic views of the surrounding nature.

Day 1

Fly to Tromsø

Depart the UK and fly to Tromsø, the biggest city in northern Norway. For around six weeks a year Tromsø experiences the Polar Night – where the sun sets in late November and doesn't rise again until mid-January. On arrival at Tromsø airport, your pre-arranged transfer will meet you for your journey to Malangen Resort, surrounded by majestic snow-dusted mountains & frozen fjords. Check in and settle into your private premium waterfront cabin, just a short walk from the main building. Neatly furnished in Scandinavian minimalist style and offering first-class views of Malangsfjord with its large ceiling windows, your modernised fisherman's cabin is the perfect base to relax in between outdoor exploits. This evening, enjoy a 3-course chef's recommendation menu, with typical Norwegian specialities such as fresh seafood and reindeer.

Day 2

Husky sledding & Northern Lights Watch

Enjoy breakfast with a view this morning before meeting your guide at reception for your first excursion of the day. Your husky sledding adventure begins by getting dressed in warm winter clothing before a short walk to the nearby kennels where an intimate group of eager huskies will be waiting in anticipation to take you into the wilderness. Start with a lesson on how to manage your own team of huskies. You'll be driving in pairs with a chance to change drivers at the halfway point, ensure equal time controlling and riding the sleds. The experience is truly magical as you roll through snow covered trails, past frozen forests and lakes before arriving back at the camp where light snacks and hot drinks are served by an open fire. Back at the hotel, enjoy a free afternoon before dinner at the restaurant. Later, we've included the opportunity to witness the Northern Lights with the help of an aurora expert. As the evening draws in, you'll head out on a short walk to Malangen's very own Camp Nikka with your guide. Enjoy the comfort of the relaxing fire, with the option of a light meal and hot drinks in the cosy lavvu as you stare up at the skies in anticipation for the nature's greatest light show.

Day 3

Sami story telling & reindeer feeding

Today sees you join a local Sami reindeer herdsman as you learn about the history, culture and ancient beliefs of the indigenous population. Traditionally inhabiting Finnish Lapland and the adjacent areas of northern Norway and Sweden, the Sami people have largely been raised on stories from thousands of years of nomadic lifestyle, though much of this is now changing. Listen to the traditional joik (chanting) as you enjoy a taste of the most delicious Sami delicacies cooked on the fire. Then, you'll have the chance to visit and feed the reindeer near the lavvu, before trying your hand at herding and lassoing. Back at the hotel, warm up in the sauna and enjoy a private outdoor Jacuzzi experience with views of the fjord, before a tucking into a hearty dinner at the restaurant.
