In more detail

Tucked among weathered boulders and acacia trees in the north central Serengeti, this elevated camp is poised at the starting point of the Great Migration, which begins around June each year. Flowing beside it, the Grumeti River is thick with wallowing hippos, their grunts echoing around camp. Even outside of migration season, the sunburned savannah is rich in wildlife, making it possible to observe the Big Five along with giraffes, cheetahs, hyenas, primates and hundreds of bird species.

Twenty opulent tented suites are raised on wooden platforms and surrounded by private decks, delivering 360-degree views of the surrounding wilderness. Designed to blend into the landscape, their richly decorated interiors feature polished wooden floors, super-king-size beds and luxurious soft furnishings. En-suite shower rooms with flushing toilets, twin vanities, and hot and cold running water add all the creature comforts you’d expect from a luxury stay.

A stylish central tent provides the communal heart of the camp with a multi-level lounge dotted with leather sofas, and a restaurant and observation deck with sweeping views across the river and rugged landscape to the Ndasiata Hills. Meals are all inclusive and inspired by local flavours and seasonal produce, while the swimming pool promises a refreshing dip.

As ever in the Serengeti, the experiences take centre stage. Day-long game drives start with a champagne picnic breakfast and take you into the bush in search of iconic wildlife encounters, dramatic river crossings and predator-prey interactions in the company of expert guides. Immerse yourself in the wilderness on a walking safari or soar above the land at dawn on a balloon safari (bookable in advance). Sundowner cocktails on the deck round off the day in style.
