In more detail

Housed in a former convent built on Inca walls in the centre of Cusco, this luxurious hotel by Belmond sits peacefully in a tranquil plaza behind the city’s historic main square. It’s a stylish urban retreat with just 55 luxurious suites decorated with a combination of Incan, colonial and contemporary features. As well as being close to many of Cusco’s highlights, the hotel also offers great access to Peru’s most iconic attractions including The Sacred Valley of the Incas and Macchu Pichu. Back at base, the suites have four-poster beds, 24-hour butler service, underfloor heating in the Peruvian travertine marble bathrooms and a complimentary in-room bar where you (or your butler) can make piscos pepped up with fresh herbs grown in the hotel’s grounds. Oxygen-enriched air conditioning and essential aromas of Andean herbs and flowers can be supplied to your suite if you’re feeling the effects of the high altitude location. Outside, there’s a beautiful cloistered courtyard with an ancient fountain at its core, and seven secluded terraces, where in the largest you’ll find Cusco’s only heated outdoor infinity pool and bar, surrounded by comfy loungers and landscaped with indigenous flowers and kitchen herbs. Back inside there’s a large guest lounge and library, a boutique and an excellent spa which specialises in treatments to improve physical, mental and emotional wellbeing using its own brand of organic products derived from indigenous Peruvian ingredients. The hotel is also home to destination restaurant, Senzo, which serves contemporary Andean cuisine in a lively, yet refined atmosphere.
