In more detail

Malangen Resort's range of cabins do not get any better than the nine large Waterfront Premium Cabins. Located just a few metres from the shoreline and a short walk from the main lodge, you'll wake up to the relaxing sound of the waves gently lapping the rocks beneath whilst you enjoy uninterrupted views of the spectacular fjord from the large floor-to-ceiling windows. Ideal for couples or even small groups, these modernly furnished fisherman's cabins are spread over two floors and have three bedrooms, complete with a private balcony, a fully equipped kitchen, with even the bathroom coming with stunning views of the fjord.

When it comes to activities, Malangen resort will spoil you for choice. The enchanting snowy landscapes of winter mean the likes of husky sledding and snowmobiling are high on the agenda, where you'll get the chance to explore frozen lakes, snow-laden fir trees and rugged mountains. Of course, being this far north also means a chance to experience a spectacular show of the fabled Aurora Borealis. Expert guides will accompany you to Camp Nikka – the resort's own wilderness camp located away from all light pollution – where a warming camp fire and hot drinks will hopefully entice the Northern Lights to light up the skies. Snowshoeing and skiing are also recommended winter activities. When it comes to the summer months, guests can enjoy the likes of hikes, paddle boards, kayaking and fishing.

The main lodge is home to a bar and a large restaurant which serves traditional northern Norwegian cuisine from locally sourced quality ingredients. With the fjord right on the doorstep, the emphasis is unsurprisingly on seafood, while other regional specialties such as cured reindeer feature regularly.
