A morning transfer will see you to the port where you’ll catch the ferry to Santorini. Today you’ll join a local guide who’ll take you on a small-group tour through the history of volcanic Santorini. It all begins with a transfer to the port where you’ll take a traditional caique boat for the short trip to Nea Kameni – the volcano of Santorini. Take the chance to climb to the crater rim of this still-active yet dormant volcano, pausing to admire the remarkable views before continuing on to the small islet of Palea Kameni, formed through the centuries by a series of volcanic eruptions. Famed for its healing hot springs, you’ll have time for a soak in the mineral-rich waters.

Your afternoon is then given over to exploring the quiet island of Thirassia, all prettily painted houses and gorgeous, uncrowded beaches, and Oia with its labyrinthine lanes framed by Venetian houses, windmills and small cave homes. It’s the perfect spot to take in one of Santorini’s famed sunsets before returning to your hotel.

Enjoy a full day relaxing and exploring Santorini at your own pace. Perhaps take a stroll through the streets of Fira, the island’s charming capital, with its winding streets, vibrant bards and restaurants, and magnificent sea views.
