In more detail

Whether its location was chosen by the resort’s feng shui expert, or for its position on ‘Billionaire’s Row’, Karma Kandara enjoys a truly spectacular setting. Found right on the edge of the Bukit Peninsula – the semi-circular jut that extends into the Indian Ocean from Bali’s south – you’ll have both culture and resort indulgences on your doorstep; the Uluwatu Temple is 20 minutes away and a championship-standard 18-hole golf course is just next door.

It’s a setting that the resort’s accommodation takes full advantage of. Each of its architect-designed villas are positioned on a clifftop, their private pools, large balconies and gardens offering stunning views over one of Bali’s top-five beaches to the ocean beyond. They’re all delightfully realised as pretty pavilions, formed of natural stone, teakwood and ironwood tile roofs. You’ll also have the choice of between one and four bedrooms – perfect for families and couples alike. And, with each villa individually secluded, you’ll enjoy a certain relaxed intimacy, not least with your very own tropical courtyard.

Just like the accommodation, Karma Kandara’s superb collection of amenities enjoys similarly privileged views. Whether it’s enjoying a drink in the rooftop bar, working out in the treetop gym, relaxing in the lantern-lit infinity pool, luxuriating in the spa or chilling out at the beach club, you’ll be treated to endless ocean and jungle vistas. There’s even a superbly stocked wine bar for the adults and a kids club for the, well, kids. To explore, consider taking up one of the activities on offer, with sunset yoga, snorkelling with turtles, coral dives, cooking lessons and surfing on some of the world’s best breaks all on offer.

Then, when it’s all said and done, there’s a full selection of dining delicacies to enjoy. The resort’s signature di Mare Restaurant serves up a seasonal fine-dining menu focused on Mediterranean flavours and classic cooking techniques. Lighter bites can be had at the Kasbah lounge and the beach club, where the likes of freshly cooked pizzas, grilled meats and gastro salads can be served right to your lounger. But, if it’s healthy living you’re after, head to the spa where bespoke menus can be tailored to your every whim.
