The accommodation is suitably impressive, limited to just eighteen suites. Along with the lodge’s signature contemporary aesthetic, each even comes with their own private viewing deck overlooking the wildlife-animated river. And, while upgrades add in outdoor showers, the four River Suites are especially impressive, each featuring their very own plunge pool.
Then, from your room, the lodge’s amenities are reached by wooden boardwalks, with the Safari Lounge at the heart of it all. Here, you’ll be treated to all-inclusive drinks, including artisanal coffees served up at the Barista’s Station. There’s even a “Memory Lab”, where guests are able to print their wildlife photos on canvas. Wherever you are, however, you can expect gorgeous designer touches, including work by local artists.
Then, back outside, you’ll find a landscaped swimming pool along with a welcome boma firepit where guests socialise under the stars. The meals, too, are often served al-fresco down by the river, with the all-inclusive fineries spreading across multiple courses. Expect the finest in South African fare, from gamey meats paired to the best in just-picked seasonal produce. It’s all included in the nightly rate – as are the twice-daily game drives that head out in search of the local Big Five.
