The 35 rooms at the Queen Victoria hotel are lined with muted tasteful shades of grey and taupe, marble clad walls and parquet flooring, all adding to a luxurious ambience. Many have fabulous views of the waterfront or of Table Mountain, and the presidential suite features a wrap-around veranda with a double chaise longue from which to enjoy views of both.
Hotel guests have use of a small pool sweetly set in the perfectly manicured gardens of the nearby Dock House boutique hotel, and the vibrant shops and galleries of the waterfront are seconds away.
Dining is a treat, dished up at Dash, named after Queen Victoria’s favourite dog. Delicacies include double baked gorgonzola soufflé with biltong shavings, hot chocolate fondant with orange ice-cream and bitter sugar brittle and a cheese board featuring a Queen Victoria cheddar. Service throughout the hotel is warm and thoughtful.
