At The Luxury Holiday Company, we are reducing our carbon emissions and taking greater steps to protect the environment. To support this commitment, we have agreed to implement the following measures:
To enable you to carbon offset our full range of luxury vacations, we have selected three carbon offset programs that cover travel by plane, train, car, and cruise ship. All programs support projects accredited by the recognized Gold Standard.
UK-based ClimateCare offers offset calculators for flights and car travel, as well as for household energy use. Previous projects include protecting rainforests in Sierra Leone, providing efficient cookstoves in Kenya, and developing renewable energy sources in China. Another UK-based organization, Carbon Footprint Ltd provides calculators for travel by air, car, motorcycle, bus, and rail. Available projects include tree planting in the UK, reforestation in developing countries, and community-led initiatives that deliver clean drinking water and efficient cookstoves worldwide. The Swiss organization myclimate offers an online calculator for cruise emissions, in addition to flights and car travel. Past projects include supporting small farmers in Nicaragua through reforestation, supplying efficient cookstoves in Kenya, and a range of offset projects within Switzerland.
