In more detail

Given its privileged position, it’s well worth grabbing a room with a view. However, with the hotel surrounded by soaring mountain peaks, the majestic Victoria Glacier and that emerald-green lake, there’s no bad view to be had. Suites add in extra space, along with everything from Egyptian cotton and chaise lounges to private balconies and club-level access. Here, you’ll be treated to the likes of complimentary cocktail canapés, served up to fantastic views over the Bow Valley Mountain Range.

Given your setting, you’ll also want to get out and explore. Whether it’s glacier walks and helicopter flights or kayak paddles, hikes and bike rides, there’s a full programme of activities to suit every taste. It’s all designed to showcase the best of your national-park setting.

You’ll then return to rest any sightseeing aches with a full range of spa treatments. Alongside the obligatory pool, steam rooms and Jacuzzis, the facials and massages are particularly good. Of course, there’s also a beauty salon and a state-of-the-art fitness centre, complete with complimentary classes.

There’s also plenty of dining options to choose from, with a focus on alpine style. Walliser Stube dishes up European classics, Lago focuses on the very best in modern Italian dining and the Canadian classics of the Fairview Restaurant span from Brant Lake wagyu to cured salmon. There’s also a fantastic afternoon tea, along with a deli and brasseries for more casual bites. Perhaps cap it all off with a craft beer at the Alpine Social bar or the hotel’s choice of over 500 wines, housed in a floor-to-ceiling “wine library”.
