The homestead dates back to 1918, when the original cottage was built in Rapaura, where it remained until being transported to its current location in 2003. Following a major refurbishment in 2017, it was transformed into luxury accommodation while retaining the estate’s original character.
It has the feel of a real home away from home, with room to sleep up to eight guests in the self-contained property, which offers delightful views of the surrounding countryside. Art and photography from New Zealand-based artists lends the homestead a unique aesthetic, while the fully-equipped kitchen and spacious lounge (featuring a log burner) and dining areas ensure you’ll have everything you need for the duration of your stay.
In the bedrooms, you’ll find thoughtful touches such as 100% New Zealand wool blankets, plush bathrobes, underfloor heating in the en-suite bathrooms and premium Nellie Tier botanical toiletries.
The north-facing courtyard is a perfect spot for dining outside on warmer days, while the deck area and expansive lawns are a haven for relaxation and contemplation.
