While guests can expect a 21st-century re-imagining of the Raffles of old, there will still be that innate glamour and old-world charm for which the hotel is renowned – four-metre-high ceilings and polished teakwood floors shine among a host of grand colonial flourishes. And, in more than a subtle nod to the hotel’s original layout, the fabled Long Bar is retuning to its original location.
The hotel’s luxurious suites offer the same sense of history and style, complete with such heritage features as shuttered doors, private verandahs, dark-wood furnishings, marble bathrooms and private verandahs with views over peaceful courtyards and leafy, palm-lined gardens. It all comes with the latest technologies you’d expect from a leading 21st-century hotel.
The new Raffles Spa, located within the Raffles Arcade, is set to be among Singapore’s finest – a holistic sanctuary where guests can truly relax. And, the dining will be nothing short of extraordinary, with everything from the new French-inspired BBR by acclaimed chef Alain Ducasse to the iconic Tiffin Room with its perfectly spiced North Indian cuisine – a Raffles staple since 1892. Guests can also enjoy a new Asian offering from Celebrity MasterChef ‘s Jereme Leung as well as a new fine-dining restaurant from three-Michelin-starred chef Anne-Sophie Pic. That’s alongside the Raffles afternoon tea, served in the elegant Grand Lobby, and, of course, the Long Bar – home to that most iconic of cocktails, the Singapore Sling.
