The camp's focal point is an ancient Banyan tree where campfires are lit and cocktails served under starry skies. It’s possible to extend the pleasure by asking for a ‘star-bed’ for the night – set up outdoors under mosquito nets for an all-nighter designed for star watching. Early morning and late afternoon safaris into the park are the highlights of the day, with the excitement of spotting deer, jackals, bison, stealthy tigers or perhaps even a secretive leopard. Guided walks are another delight, offering immersive hours in the magical forest that lines the property, or visits to Jamtara village.
Refreshing lunches and restorative dinners feature both western and local classics, usually served a thatched dining area, open to the outdoors, but can be enjoyed all out al fresco beneath a tree. Cooking classes are available on request, and there is a charming pool for spare sunny hours.
