Standing in 15 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, the captivating Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor is just across from the Royal Palace and plays host to a huge outdoor pool inspired by Angkorian architecture, the fantastic Raffles Spa and a selection of superb restaurants. As glorious today as it was when it opened its doors in 1932, the hotel is a wondrous showcase of Art Deco features, many of them original and lovingly retained and restored.
From the grand exterior to the original cage elevator which adorns the lobby, or the black and white tiled halls with overhead ceiling fans gently moving the air, this elegant hotel harks back to the days of French colonialism and is rich in Cambodian history. Purists will prefer to stay in one of the 46 Landmark Rooms in the main building, teeming with Art Deco flourishes and awash with period details such as wooden floors, four-poster beds, marble bathrooms with claw-foot bathtubs and handmade silk bathrobes. The State Rooms in the hotel’s new wing are more modern and offer views of the pool and lush gardens. The suites are exceptionally spacious and all feature butler service and private balconies or terraces leading out to the pool.
A diverse array of fabulous restaurants, bars and cafés offers something for every occasion, while the Wine Cellar is home to one of the finest wine selections in Asia.
