Designed by local designer Jaime Beriestain, the contemporary décor harks back to the gilded opulence of 1920s Art Deco whilst remaining fresh, progressive and modern. Muted tones of gold and grey are lifted with rich textures, subtle pops of colour and natural wood accents.
Intelligent lighting defines the various areas, setting the stage for relaxation and adding to the overall sense of style. The beautifully furnished living spaces feel warm and refined and provide an ideal setting in which to revel in the laid-back ambience.
The star attraction, however, is the multi-tiered rooftop terrace, which offers spectacular panoramic views across Barcelona and its many icons. The small but tempting swimming pool is an idyllic place to be on a warm summer’s day, while the rooftop Azimuth bar is a romantic place to relax while remaining connected to the city.
The Almanac’s 61 rooms and 30 suites are beautifully appointed, drawing on contemporary design and modern furnishings to achieve a strong sense of luxury and harmony. Designed especially for the hotel, the beds are huge and are supremely comfortable.
Each room and suite is equipped with a smartphone and tablet that connects guests to the concierge service, making it quick and easy to discover the hotel’s facilities as well as organise activities in the city. Guests can also take the smartphones with them when exploring the city, enabling them to stay connected with the hotel’s concierge. The standard double rooms offer plenty of space, while the cube rooms feature bay windows that provide a flood of natural light and inspiring views over the city.
