Tin Tub Luxury Lodge is around 2km from Wanaka Township in the mountainous region of Otago, close to six world-class skiing destinations. Sitting in a picturesque, pastoral setting by Lake Wanaka, the lodge is perfectly positioned with oversized windows to capture all the magnificent lake and mountain vistas. The main lodge houses a convivial dining room, library and elegant guest lounge, where deep leather sofas are positioned around a roaring fire and huge windows bring the outside in. The outdoor terrace also features another log fire and comfortable seating to relax with your genial hosts over a glass or two. The three superb Lodge Rooms are ultra-modern, with Californian king beds and plush seating areas under vaulted timber ceilings and whitewashed walls. The bathrooms are uber luxurious, with twin vanities, walk in shower and a deep, spa bath. Outside you’ll find a private, comfortably furnished patio complete with twin tin tubs for outdoor bathing. There are also two Peak View Rooms, slightly more modest, but with balconies so you can benefit from those spectacular views. Despite its compact size, Tin Tub Lodge has an excellent range of leisure facilities for its guests, including a large swimming pool that’s heated in summer, a tennis court, half-court basketball and a fully equipped gym with sauna. There’s also a drying room for your ski gear and mountain bikes are available to borrow so you can get out on two wheels and explore the superb scenery. The hosts serve up wonderful homemade breakfasts and the nearby town of Wanaka has a good selection of restaurants to choose from.
