On arrival after your boat or seaplane ride, you'll be transported via horse and cart to your luxury tent, a wonderful introduction to the resort. Enjoy views either over the water's edge or temperate rainforest; either way, you'll enjoy a day bed, en-suite and an indoor and outdoor shower, with wood stoves, plush rugs, polished antiques, oil lamps and an abundance of candles adding to the charm. The intimate dining room, all log fires and gleaming silver, provides a cosy setting for all-inclusive meals, snacks and drinks throughout. Expect the likes of seared Clayoquot Salmon, pea-crusted Peace River lamb rack, smoked Yarrow duck breast and freshly-caught Dungeness crab for dinner, alongside an extensive wine list.
Days are fuelled with creative breakfast delights such as maple yoghurt parfait, giant buttermilk pancakes and even a made-to-order smoothie bar, and there’s an old-fashioned candy and cookie counter that's available all day. Then, on your final night, guests are offered an included multi-course wine paired tasting menu, with delights such as porcini-crusted Haida Gwaii sablefish and heritage roasted pork rack with maple mustard glaze, accompanied by award-winning wines. Post-dinner relaxation comes in the form of sundowners in the Lounge Tent, or head to the Games Tent to make use of the full billiards table and comfortable sofas.
But, it's outside that truly steals the show – take advantage with the endless excursions on offer, from fishing in the salmon-dense river and kayaking on serene waters to horse riding through the old-growth cedar and spruce rainforest. Lakeside hiking tracks abound, and mountain biking along the wooded hills offers spectacular vistas of the protected Clayoquot Sound. There’s even interpretive trail walks with a First Nations guide, paddle boarding and surfing on deserted beaches and opportunities to spot grey and humpback whales, sea otter, eagles, black bears and even cougar on boat trips and guided hikes. More serene indulgences come in the form of the three cedar hot tubs on the sprawling waterfront deck, as well as two saunas and a range of spa treatments on offer.
