It’s a great sport for exploring further afield, too, whether you’re drawn to the sandy beaches of the Costa Blanca or the rich history and culture of towns such as Cartagena or Murcia.

The resort offers 192 elegantly-appointed rooms and suites, each designed with colours and textures that nod to the surrounding nature. They each come with a spacious marble bathroom, 65-inch flat-screen smart TV and individually-controlled air conditioning, while many also have a private balcony or terrace overlooking the pool, gardens or golf course.

When it comes to dining options, you’ll be spoilt for choice. As well as a buffet restaurant, take your pick from an array of à la carte venues covering everything from fresh seafood and local rice dishes to Italian classics and Asian flavours. There’s also a stylish cocktail bar that hosts live piano music, as well as a sports bar and a beach club with a tapas bar.
