Whether intricate chandeliers or oversized animal prints, each of the hotel’s rooms and suites features its own distinct character. It’s all inspired by the hotel’s Arctic setting, with starry-sky wallpapers, wooden floors, and polar bears adorning the shower glass. Don’t worry, there’s also plenty of mod cons, with rain showers and espresso machines as standard. In turn, upgrades mix in the likes of lounge areas, private saunas and private balconies. There’s even a “Christmas Cabin” available.
Alongside Rovaniemi’s fine restaurants and bars, you’ll also have all of Finnish Lapland’s Arctic delights on your doorstep. There’s everything from summer river cruises and moose watching to winter snowmobiling and dogsledding. Of course, the nearby Santa’s village is a special highlight.
Then, when you return, perhaps rest up with a soak in the sauna or a spa treatment. The massages are excellent, while further facilities include a gym and yoga studio. The Arctic Restaurant is equally impressive, serving up the finest in regional specialities. Expect the likes of willow grouse, salmon and king crab before you cap things off with a drink at Plan B – the hotel’s superb cocktail bar.
