A short drive from all the buzz Byron has to offer, this rainforest resort is a Garden of Eden. Sleek suites, sophisticated spa, fantastic restaurant, are so tucked away between trees, or camouflaged among the canopy, they don’t obscure this piece of paradise.
This is an all suite resort, and all are serene, with patios at either end to ensure maximum exposure to the great green outdoors. Strategically placed sofas and huge bathrooms make staying in a pleasure. This isn’t a place to stay in however. Strolls along the raised timber boardwalks submerge guests in tropical beauty all the way to Tallow Beach, accessed via a private gate. Like the forest, it’s utterly unspoilt and it’s possible to spot whales from its silvery sands.
For a contrast, a shuttle service takes guests into Byron, brimming with hipness, but a return to the resort is always a pleasure. There’s a raised infinity pool sparkling beside the rainforest, and the restaurant is outstanding, with a paddock-to-plate philosophy. The chef welcomes guests to join him at the weekly farmers’ market, and bases his menu that evening on produce picked together.
