Day 2

Husky sledding & Lappish sauna

Ready yourself for an action-packed day ahead with a hearty breakfast. You’ll then head to a local husky farm, spending some time getting to know these lovable furry creatures before you try your hand at ‘mushing’ (the art of driving a husky sled) as you glide through the enchanting, snow-cloaked wilderness. There will be time to pause for hot drinks and cookies, as well as an opportunity to pet and take photos with the huskies.

Later on, relax and recharge with a private session in a traditional Lappish wood sauna, which is heated to the perfect temperature to bring a whole host of health benefits, including improved circulation and eliminating toxins from the body. It's also possible to enhance your sauna experience with forest-scented aroma infusions, such as pine, eucalyptus or cedarwood. If you fancy, you can also cool off in the snow outside before retreating back to the warmth of the sauna – an invigorating wellness ritual often practiced by Finns during the winter months.

Day 3

Optional activities & aurora reindeer tour

After breakfast, you’ll have the whole day free to enjoy a range of optional excursions. Perhaps you'll go for a thrilling ride on the nearby toboggan hill, or for a somewhat calmer experience, go for a snowshoe hike in the forest. An easily accessible route will bring you to the viewpoint at the top of Syväsenvaara Hill, from which you’ll be met by wonderful panoramas overlooking Rovaniemi and the surrounding nature. There’s also an ice skating track on-site which you’re welcome to use free of charge. You could also enjoy a traditional Sámi reindeer experience, immerse yourself in festive cheer at SantaPark, or head into the city of Rovaniemi itself to check out the local bars, restaurants and museums. The choice is entirely yours.

Then, as darkness sets in, you'll set off on an adventure like no other as you meet a herd of reindeer and learn all about the importance of these animals to the Sámi way of life. Travelling by sleigh, the reindeer will lead you through the forest to a traditional Sámi kota (hut), where you'll enjoy hot drinks, snacks and storytelling beside a crackling campfire. With a little luck regarding clear skies and solar activity, you may step outside to see the Northern Lights swirling across the night sky, capping off a truly unforgettable evening in the Arctic wilderness.
