Dive into the wilds of Chile, starting in the lunar landscapes of the Atacama Desert where the flamingos are shocking pink, the lakes emerald green and the geysers burnt red. Then, journey south to Chilean Patagonia – a true frontier land where Torres del Paine’s rock spires pierce giant skyscapes and the likes of the monolithic Grey Glacier form a stunning foreground to snow-capped peaks and glassy lakes. In between, you’ll amble down the cobbled streets of Santiago, the country's fiercely proud capital city, and explore colourful Valparaíso whose idyllic harbourside setting has long been an artist’s muse. You’ll take it all in with ultra-indulgent stays and private guided tours that get right to the heart of each destination. Expect everything from city walks with local experts to horseback rides in search of eagles among the Andean peaks.
Start your trip in style with premium lounge access before your overnight flight to Santiago.
After touching down, a private transfer will bring you to the French neoclassicism of your central hotel hideaway. Here, campaign furniture, a rooftop pool and indulgent menus both spa and gastronomic evoke all the glamour of vintage travel. Rest in luxury before a private half-day tour of Santiago traces the city’s fascinating past – plazas are watched over by 18th-century cathedrals, monuments dot hilltop parks and highlights include the ornately neoclassical Government Palace.
Then, compare Santiago’s rich history to its refined present, evidenced in artsy barrio neighbourhoods and glass-and-steel modernism before you take it all in with a trip up Cristóbal Hill for raking, city-wide panoramas.
Fly north into the Atacama Desert where a transfer will bring you to your stunning lodge – Nayara Alto Atacama. Combining outdoor adventure with a relaxed atmosphere and striking design, it will put you right at the heart of the region's moon-like landscapes and colourful Altiplanic lagoons, all of which you'll take in on included small-group tours. And, after thrilling days spent exploring the Valle de Luna, Tatio Geysers and Atacama Salt Flat, you'll return to fine wines, gourmet dining, poolside relaxation and the indulgence of the lodge's Uma Spa.
There's also the opportunity to join an optional hot air balloon flight for bird's-eye views of the desert accompanied by a glass of sparkling wine.
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included
A private transfer and a flight will bring you back to Santiago for a one-night stay as you prepare to travel south to Patagonia. With the day left free, perhaps take in some of Santiago’s endless collection of galleries that showcase art that ranges from the pre-Colombian era to the modern day or trace the country’s more haunted, revolutionary past with the Museum of Human Rights and the beautiful Villa Grimaldi Peace Park.
Alternatively, simply unwind with a pisco sour cocktail or a famous Chilean vintage at one of its outdoor cafés that line the city’s leafy boulevards. For some evening entertainment, perhaps experience Santiago’s passion for syncopated rhythms at its legendary jazz clubs.
Breakfast included
Following a private transfer to the airport, you'll fly to Punta Arenas on the wild Strait of Magellan and join a long, brave lineage of sub-polar explorers as you set off into Torres del Paine National Park. Your base here will be the Tierra Patagonia Hotel & Spa, whose elegant curves and wood-clad walls blend seamlessly into its lakeside setting. Over the next three days, your guide will tailor a series of included excursions to your tastes.
Watch as condors soar over rugged valleys, flamingos stalk shimmering lakes and guanacos – a cousin of the alpaca – graze precipitous grasslands as you enjoy everything from horseback rides and Lago Grey sailing trips to guided hikes that take you right to the base of the park's famous granite towers.

Spoil yourself: Upgrade to Awasi Patagonia
After a flight back to Santiago, take a private transfer to Valparaíso, perhaps stopping for an optional vineyard tour along the way to learn about, and sample, the region’s innovative biodynamic wines. You’ll then arrive at the 'Jewel of the Pacific' where you’ll stay in a beautifully restored Relais & Chateaux mansion overlooking the town's UNESCO-listed waterfront. An included private tour will then bring you – via mountain funiculars, historic trolleybuses and winding escalera stairways – between charming neighbourhoods and winding alleys lined with bright pastel houses.
You’ll then emerge at the top to take in sweeping vistas of the town’s colourful, seaside bustle. Sate your well-earned hunger by sampling the local seafood delicacies, perhaps at your hotel’s restaurant where ceviche is served to jazz music in a 1920s setting.
Breakfast included
Leave Valparaíso in a private car for the hour-and-a-half journey to Santiago's international airport, where you’ll board your overnight flight to the UK.
