Rooms and suites are everything you’d expect from an &Beyond hotel – stylish, spacious and utterly in keeping with the history of the building, and the beauty and ecology of its surroundings. The en suite bathrooms feel wonderfully indulgent, with separate showers and deep tubs looking out to picture windows and private views, as private terraces open out to lush, landscaped gardens. The Villa Suites are well worth the upgrade, adding in fireplaces, separate lounges and bubbling hot tubs complete with volcano views. For the ultimate luxury, the Ruca Suite offers total seclusion by a peaceful lagoon, reached by a short stroll through the forest.
The dining here is equally impressive, showcasing a delicious collection of local recipes – some indigenous – on seasonal menus that really do make the most of the region’s, and indeed the farm’s, bounteous produce; it’s the very definition of farm-to-fork dining. The homebred Angus beef is a particular highlight, especially when paired with a full-bodied Chilean red.
Aside from the aforementioned activities, guests are also invited to try their hands at everything from yoga to cheese making. And, since November 2017, optional helicopter flights – not included in the room rate – offer the chance for sweeping aerial views of the Chilean Lakes, or for an ever-so-stylish and speedy way of reaching the hotel from either Pucón or Temuco airport.
