In more detail

Easter Island is the most remote inhabited island in the world, home to myriad mysteries and lying some 3,700km off the South American continent, surrounded by the deepest and clearest waters on earth. It’s no wonder then that this island has become such a magnet for curious travellers wishing to discover its unique nature and rich cultural heritage. The Explora Rapa Nui near Hanga Roa has a great reputation for is comprehensive programme of island-exploring activities including hiking, cycling and scenic boat tours. Each day is fastidiously planned over a drink the night before from a choice of over 20 independent activities and small-group excursions. What’s more, all the activities and tours are included in your stay, as well as your meals and drinks. The LEED-certified hotel has been designed to minimise the impact on the environment and has been constructed from locally sourced volcanic rock and pine wood. Each of the 30 luxurious, timber-clad rooms and suites feature sea views from your bed, little living spaces and a bathroom with a hydro massage bath to soothe away any aches following the day’s explorations. There is also an inviting pool with ergonomic recliners and open-air Jacuzzis as well as a massage room. The main lodge houses relaxing living and dining spaces and the cuisine here is deliberately designed to fuel expeditions but remaining light and healthy. The meals are always accompanied by delicious Chilean wines. Perhaps the best thing about Explora Rapa Nui is that there is no WiFi or television, allowing you to disconnect fully from everyday life.
