Set within a traditional, family-owned Umbrian Palace dating back to the 16th century, Palazzo Seneca is the longest-running hotel in Norcia, a medieval town in the foothills of the Sibillini Mountains. It prides itself on preserving the building’s original decor, combined with a homely ambience, stylish accommodation and sublime gastronomic experiences at its Michelin-starred restaurant, Vespasia. The family-owned Palazzo Seneca epitomises Umbrian tradition and hospitality at its finest. Despite undergoing several renovations over the years, it has never lost sight of its heritage, with stone and terracotta floors, vaulted ceilings, grand fireplaces and artisan Umbrian furnishings giving it a unique sense of character. It’s in an ideal location for exploring the medieval town of Norcia, just a few steps away from the central square, Piazza San Benedetto.

The 24 rooms and suites each brim with charm, featuring a mix of artisan and antique furnishings, wrought iron or hand-carved wooden beds with memory foam mattresses, oak wood or terracotta floors, and ecru marble bathrooms.

Among the highlights of any stay at Palazzo Seneca is the chance to savour exceptional, Michelin-starred dishes at Vespasia restaurant, where the chefs deliver an innovative take on local ingredients and culinary traditions. A bountiful breakfast spread is served every morning in the lounge area or in the Vespasia garden.

To showcase the region’s proud culinary heritage and natural beauty, the hotel offers a series of immersive experiences, ranging from black truffle hunting and ricotta cheese-making to wine tasting and cooking workshops.
