In more detail

If you’re looking to stay somewhere on Sardinia’s west coast that’s elegant, sophisticated, off the beaten track and surrounded by nature, Is Arenas Resort delivers emphatically on all fronts. It’s nestled in a pine forest that fringes a sandy beach, around 12 miles north of the city of Oristano – far enough away to feel secluded and peaceful, but conveniently located for day trips, too.

The main building offers 55 bright and spacious rooms, each equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi and a television, while some also come with a private balcony or terrace. For a little extra space and seclusion, opt for one of the suites or bungalows in the pine forest.

Expect fresh, quality ingredients at the Jas Pineta restaurant, both at the daily buffet breakfast and later on, when Mediterranean-themed dishes are beautifully prepared using seasonal ingredients from local suppliers. You can also enjoy a light lunch at the poolside bar, which doubles up as a cocktail venue in the evenings. Or, you could head to the beach bar for drinks and nibbles, which is a particularly fine spot at sunset.

There’s plenty of scope for pampering here, with a wide range of massages and skin treatments available at the spa, delivered by expert therapists using local and organic beauty products. You’re also more than welcome to join in the twice-weekly, small-group yoga and meditation classes, designed to connect mind and body. Fancy a round of golf? There’s a magnificent, 18-hole course just a few steps away.
