Though a former farmhouse, the Donna Carmela Resort & Lodges has been thoroughly transformed into a luxurious and modern home from home, with individually decorated accommodation alongside distinct and original Sicilian touches throughout. The hotel grounds consist of several buildings which house 26 original rooms, while you'll also find eight more recently added lodges and villas. Deluxe rooms are split over two levels and feature a living area and terrace with panoramic views of the gardens and the sea or Mount Etna beyond. Meanwhile, the modern lodges enjoy either garden or sea views and sleep up to four, with Romantic Lodges boasting a small heated hydro massage pool on the terrace. There is also an Imperial Villa for those seeking exclusivity with its own private pool and staff.

In the centre of the hotel grounds, alongside beautifully landscaped, gardens you'll find a stunning pool – perfect for secluded days spent relaxing under the Sicilian sun. And, while the majesty of the imposing Mount Etna may get the lion's share of the attention, the cultural richness and diversity of this region if Sicily is there for all to see.
