Day 1

Arrive in Finnish Lapland

Fly to Rovaniemi in Finnish Lapland. Upon arrival we’ll take you to your wilderness boutique hotel, Beana Laponia - a romantic, snow-bound escape for adults-only that provides grown-up Arctic adventures.

Settle into your seriously stylish room overlooking the frozen tundra and take in the Scandinavian design touches and sled-dog influenced décor. Relax in a private sauna or a soak in the outdoor Jacuzzi, before settling down in the lodge’s cosy Sulokuono Restaurant for an Arctic feast.

Day 2

Snowshoeing & Northern Lights

Start your day with a hearty breakfast to fuel you for the activities ahead. Then, choose from snowshoeing in the snowy wilderness with a local guide or trekking through the heavily powdered trees of Rovaniemi's forest trails - make sure to keep your eyes peeled for wildlife. In the afternoon spend your free time using the hotel’s toboggans, or set out on traditional cross-country forest skis to explore more, slipping through the trees in such secluded silence that you wil even hear the snow falling.

After a busy day, retreat indoors for a tailored massage or take a long soak in the hot tub. When night falls, slip though the dark forest to a traditional Sami lavvu tent in a clearing. Here you’ll hear folk tales and swap stories around a campfire, all the while keeping a watchful eye on the skies for the surreal appearance of the Northern Lights.

Day 3

Husky sledding

Now is the time to fully immerse yourself in Finnish Lapland culture with a chance to try your hand at an authentic winter activity - husky-sledding. The Name Beana Laponia literally means ‘Dogs of Lapland’ in the local Sami language and the owner’s husky farm is at the heart of any stay here; their dog-sled safaris are among the best in the region. Start by meeting the husky pack and getting to know how the team lives and works.

Then board a sled and embark on a thrilling five-hour journey on private trails through the snow-laden forest. Practice mushing or sit back and enjoy the thrill of being towed through the trees. Make a stop in the woods mid-way to warm-up around a campfire with a mug of steaming soup before continuing on your journey. Back at Beana Laponia, tired but exhilarated, take drinks in the lobby bar before another special dining experience.

Day 4

Snowmobiling & reindeer

Continue the theme of outdoor adventure, this time swapping dog-sleds for snowmobiles. Take control of your machine and follow a guide on an epic excursion enjoying the thrill of speed on the snow, this is real Arctic appreciation. In the afternoon, you will swap horse power for hoof power and travel to a reindeer farm. Learn about this iconic Arctic animal and meet a traditional Sami reindeer herder to learn about their way of life, then take the reins for a reindeer sleigh ride.

End the day with a final indulgent dinner, then perhaps you’ll then spend an evening soaking in the outdoor hot tub, beneath the Arctic skyscape. And, if you're lucky, the elusive Northern Lights might just make another appearance...
