In more detail

The Strand has been a landmark in the city of Yangon since 1901, making it one of the most legendary hotels in the region. As the brainchild of the hoteliers behind Raffles, Singapore, it’s no surprise that you’ll find timeless elegance and quaint charms throughout.

As the only hotel in Yangon’s riverside colonial district, you’ll be treated to surroundings of 19th century architecture, and views over the city’s river . Set over three beautiful floors, this all-suite accommodation boasts teakwood flooring, marble features and opulent chandeliers - all in keeping with the architectural heritage of the property.

All of the 31 suites were renovated in 2016, bringing in the modernity of satellite TV and complimentary WiFi, yet retaining the airy colonialism it is revered for. 24-hour butler service adds to the personalised service you’ll receive, offering a welcome drink on arrival and tea and coffee at any time.

After a day’s adventures in the city, there’s no more welcome sight than the marble floors, billiards table and superb cocktail menu of the Strand Bar. But if you’re more in need of pampering, then the traditional Myanmar therapies in the spa will be sure to rejuvenate.

Dining is amongst the best in the country, set under the vaulted ceiling of the signature Strand Restaurant. The gourmet menus here host delicacies from both Asia and around the world. But, for a less formal dining experience or a traditional afternoon tea, the Strand Cafe’s rattan furniture and whirring ceiling fans offer the ideal setting.
