On either side of your rail experience, you'll be treated to stays in two standout hotels – the Fullerton in Singapore and the Datai on beautiful Langkawi island. Days 2 – 3

Sights and sounds of Singapore

On arrival in Singapore, a private driver will then be waiting at the airport to see you on to your luxury accommodation – the Fullerton. Set in the city’s neoclassical colonial post office, it combines National-Monument heritage with the likes of infinity pools and first-class spa treatments. It’s a perfect introduction to the city’s contrasting charms.

One moment you could be admiring a multi-tiered Chinese temple or tucking into mouth-watering hawker markets, and the next marvelling at man-made super-tree ecosystems and giant, surfboard-capped skyscrapers.

About the itinerary

"I put together this itinerary by popular demand. While the train journey alone is worth the trip, many of our clients also wanted to add on some beach relaxation to their journey out east. So, I've picked out one of Malaysia's finest island getaways, offering the chance to both unwind on white sands and explore an old-growth jungle animated by unique wildlife."
